With Torres del Paine National Park official opening this 26th of November 2020, all visitors must buy access tickets to the park with the new Ticket Sales System for Protected Wild Areas in Chile. The new system call ASPTicket is designed with all COVID-19 health form protocol so visitors now must check-in at least 24 hours before its visits. After you buy and proceed with check-in, visitors will receive a digital QR code to access Torres del Paine. Now you may buy it online by visiting this link: www.aspticket.cl

Remember that you need also reservations for the campsites or shelters in Torres del Paine.

There are three different agencies (CONAF, Vertice, Fantástico Sur) that offer campsites and shelters in Torres del Paine National Park. The campsites you need to reserve will depend on your route and budget.

I recommend trying to make reservations at the same time since the three agencies are not connected, which makes it very difficult to coordinate them.

Limited access

In this first stage of the reopening, which began on November 26th, the access of visitors will be allowed throughout the area of ​​the interior vehicular road of the park enabled by the Laguna Amarga, Lago Sarmiento, and Río Serrano gates. In addition to the road to the Río Pingo and Salto Grande sector, the viewpoints and trails surrounding the road are included for this area. As well as the excursion trail of the mountain circuit “W”, which connects the sectors of the Gray Glacier, French Valley, and Base Torres.

From today and for the day, the path to Base Torres and the remaining hiking trails of the “W” can be visited, they will be enabled as of November 30th. It is important to point out that all the mountain trails have set time limits for their route, as is the case of the footpath to Base Torres, whose closing at the entrance will be at 3:00 p.m. each day, so it will not be possible to start walks from the appointed time, as well as visitors must leave the Base Torres viewpoint at 5:00 p.m.

Hikers who enter the area on the “W” circuit, during the first stage of the reopening of the park, must do so without considering the lake transportation service of Lake Pehoé.

On the other hand, the mountain camping service will be offered to start from Monday, November 30, and will correspond to Paine Grande, Campamento Italiano, and Gray. The occupation of this service will be made by the prior reservation of the sites.

For its part, the hotel service (hotels and mountain refuges is subject to the programming of each company.

“W” Circuit

This reopening plan does not compromise the section of the “W” circuit that is on private property however, the information provided by the representative of the “Cerro Paine Reserve” enclosure considers the operation of the camping service of the Cuernos and Central camps, as a first stage and then start operations with the shelters of the aforementioned camps.

In this phase, the Laguna Azul and Laguna Verde sectors will be closed to visitors, as well as the main Macizo Paine mountain circuit called the “O”.

The system for registering and charging entry to the park will be done through the website: www.aspticket.cl. It is very important, all visitors must check-in 24 hours prior to their visit.

During this phase, the public toilets of the goals will be kept open. Also, those arranged in the Villa Monzino Information Center and the Pingo sector nursery. The public-use toilets in the Pudeto sector will not be in operation until the health permits are issued.

Acceso limitado

En esta primera etapa de la reapertura, que comenzó a regir ayer, se permitirá el acceso de visitantes en toda la zona de camino vehicular interior del parque habilitado por las porterías Laguna Amarga, Lago Sarmiento y Río Serrano. Además del camino hacia el sector de Río Pingo y Salto Grande se incluye para esta zona los miradores y senderos aledaños al camino. Así como también el sendero de excursión del circuito de montaña “W”, el cual une los sectores del glaciar Grey, valle Francés y Base Torres.

Desde hoy y por el día, podrá ser visitado el sendero a Base Torres y los restantes senderos de excursión de la “W”, quedarán habilitados a contar del 30 de noviembre. Es importante señalar que todos los senderos de montaña tienen fijado horarios límites para su recorrido, como es el caso del sendero a Base Torres cuyo cierre al ingreso será a las 15 horas de cada día, por lo que no se podrá iniciar caminatas a contar de la hora señalada, así como también los visitantes deberán hacer abandono del mirador Base Torres, a las 17 horas.

Los excursionistas que ingresen a la zona al circuito “W”, durante la primera etapa de la reapertura del parque, deben realizarlo sin considerar el servicio de transporte lacustre del lago Pehoé.

Por otra parte, el servicio de campismo de montaña se brindará a contar del lunes 30 de noviembre y corresponderá a Paine Grande, Campamento Italiano y Grey. La ocupación de este servicio, se efectuará mediante previa reserva de los sitios.

Por su parte, el servicio de hotelería (hoteles y refugios de montaña queda supeditado a la programación de cada empresa.

Circuito “W”

Este plan de reapertura no compromete la sección del circuito “W” que se encuentra en propiedad privada, sin embargo la información entregada por el representante del recinto “Reserva Cerro Paine”, considera la operación del servicio de campismo de los campamentos Cuernos y Central, como primera etapa para luego iniciar las operaciones con los refugios de los señalados campamentos.

En esta fase, se mantendrán cerrados a los visitantes los sectores Laguna Azul y Laguna Verde, además del circuito principal de montaña Macizo Paine denominado la “O”.

El sistema de registro y cobro de ingreso al parque se realizará a través del sitio web: www.aspticket.cl. Es muy importante que los visitantes hagan su chek-in 24 horas antes de visita.

Durante esta fase se mantendrán abiertos los sanitarios de uso público de las porterías. Además los dispuestos en el Centro de Información de Villa Monzino y la guardería del sector Pingo. Los sanitarios de uso público del sector Pudeto, no estarán en operación, hasta que se cuente con los permisos de salud.
